  • Use of Castors with Grillo Kitchen Units

Grillo kitchen units are designed to be installed using the supplied adjustable feet, which provide the support and stability the units are built for.

Because of this, we do not recommend fitting castors (wheels).

Although some third-party castors may fit the standard M10 thread, Grillo does not test or approve alternative fittings for kitchen units.

    Why castors are not recommended

When a unit is moved — especially over uneven ground, joints, slopes or thresholds — extra strain can be placed on the cabinet structure and fixing points, which may result in damage. The risk is greater with larger and heavier kitchen configurations, or when the unit is heavily loaded, for example with grills, sinks, fridges or storage.

    Using castors may lead to:

    • stress or movement at fixing points
    • doors or panels becoming misaligned
    • tension and damage to worktops
    • reduced stability during movement
    • cosmetic or structural damage
    • wear to parts not designed for mobile use

    Warranty

As castors are outside the intended use of the product, any damage caused by fitting or using them may not be covered under warranty.  This may include:

    • bent or damaged fixings
    • cabinet distortion
    • misalignment of doors or panels
    • damage caused while moving the unit
    • worktop chipping or cracking

If you decide to fit castors

If a customer nevertheless chooses to fit castors, we recommend:

    • only move the unit when necessary
    • remove heavy items where practical before moving
    • move it slowly and carefully
    • avoid uneven surfaces, steps and impacts
    • check fixings and the cabinet regularly for signs of movement or damage

If you’re unsure, please contact the Grillo team before making any changes to your kitchen unit.
