What's happening in your garden this summer?
THE SUMMER QUESTION
Cherry blossoms along the road. Neighbour’s front garden is enviable. Daffodils by the drive. It’s still light. The sounds and smells of mowing the lawn. Early evening sun. It got me thinking. I haven’t got long now.
What am I going to do with my garden this summer? Here’s a few ideas to get you FIRED up and ready for Summer 23… OUT-GRILL THE JONES’!
Top 10 garden ideas for 2023
Here at Grillo, we are fortunate to get to see all the creative work that goes into folk’s projects. Check out some of our favourites below!
1. The Urban Eden
Small garden. Big city. Small kitchen. Big soul.
This classic Chelsea town house garden was transformed from a small messy, under-utilized patch of grass into a clean, modern, contemporary indoor/outdoor living dream. Fit for the Made-In-Chelsea star, Louise Thompson and her partner Ryan. Read more here.
2. Gone Country
Gone back to your roots?
There’s nothing like an English country garden. Red brick paths. Lavender. Natural stone. Blue skies. Green grass. Britain is full of classic traditional country gardens, and the beauty of the Grillo kitchen is that it’s neutral colours blends in perfectly with any architecture. See a country project here.
3. Pizza and Prosecco.
Mozzarella. Flames. Theatre. Wood-smoke.
Pizza mastery is a worthy addition to anyone’s lifetime bucket list. A wood-fired pizza oven gives an incredibly authentic result, every time. A slice of Italy in your garden, coupled with your favourite Prosecco, what more could you want? More prosecco? We sat down with Marco Biasetti, brand ambassador at Delivita to hear about Italy, Pizza, and life in general. Watch Marco here.
4. Great & Small.
Big experiences don’t need big budgets.
Bigger isn’t always better. Maybe you’ve only got a tiny space on your roof terrace to fit your outdoor kitchen in. Maybe you’re a reluctant conscript in the cost-of-living crisis and have a tight budget constraint. Or perhaps you simply prefer a smaller, lower maintenance layout. Be inspired by this cosy and well-designed space in Winchester, Hampshire. See project here.
5. By the pool.
Blues? Blue pool. Blue sky. Blue smoke wisps.
Nothing says ‘summer’ more than a Grillo kitchen & pool combo. What else is there to say, other than, bring on the weekend? Check out these pool projects below:
6. Holiday kitchen.
The holiday house kitchen. Lakeside.
This lakeside holiday hideaway can be found in Silverlake Holiday Homes in Dorset. The modern country estate provides design-led holiday homes in a secure setting, looking out onto freshwater lakes and sweeping countryside views. What more could you want?
7. The Blockbuster.
Dreaming of your own rockstar pad?
To quote garden designer Tim Horner: “English gardens have transformed a lot, from that sort of quaint brick path with lavenders down the side, to these big blockbuster outdoor living spaces. People want to want to be out in their gardens, doing what they do inside – but outside.”
8. In the clouds.
A rooftop garden? For most of us it’s just castles in the air.
This shared roof terrace is the centrepiece social space for a development in Tottenham Hale, London. One can think of few better places to spend a long Friday evening; authentic grilled food, a glass of wine in hand, friends, company, and winking city lights.
9. Beer Garden. In your garden.
The bar that never closes.
We’ve raised the Bar! Perfect for hosting family and friends, your Grillo Vantage Garden Bar will become the hub of every party. And when it comes to home-socialising, outdoors is the in-thing. We like a fire-centric theatrical approach, especially when it involves cocktails made from grilled fruit.
