Small Outdoor Kitchens
Just because they’re small, it doesn’t mean they can’t be mighty. Maybe you’ve only got a small space on your roof terrace to fit your outdoor kitchen in. Maybe you’ve got a budget constraint. Or perhaps you simply prefer a smaller, lower maintenance layout with a lighter footprint. We have a kitchen for that.
1. South Hampshire

A classicly clean straight run with the Gas BBQ has to be the centre of the design, the engine of the kitchen. Cabinetry one end, fridge & bin at the other.
2. Stoke Newington
LONDON
An unfussy set up is the ideal choice for an outdoor kitchen with such proximity to the indoor kitchen. Churn out the burgers, or host a wood-fired pizza evening. Either works.

LOVE YOUR GARDEN
Alan Titchmarsh’s choice, two BBQ options and a fridge – the ideal ‘starter pack’, and still only 3 metres wide. Not forgetting the feature walls to keep the tools tidy.

Two BBQs that make a lot of sense together – the Bull Gas BBQ for quick dinners, the Gusto for smoky flavour and low and slow joints.

Still small, but on the larger side, we love this island with bar seating one side and the gas BBQ and chef’s area on the other. It’s compact and it makes the most of the patio. After all, we all lvoe an indoor island. Why not take it outside?

Nested into the hedges, a small kitchen at 2.4 metres wide – even so, a full BBQ & drinks making station for these year-round hosters. Shelves, worktop space, tool rail, Gas BBQ, bin, fridge. Sorted.

Another simple design at only 3 metres with two authentic cooking options. Straight run kitchens work beautifully at the head of a table – for ease of serving, for sociable parties, for the wow-factor.

Compact, yet pretty wonderful. Open shelving is a real plus for small kitchens, giving you multiple layers of storage to work with, an extension of your worktop. Not forgetting the Gusto.

A simple squeeze between bi-fold and plinth, only two units would fit. Yet within this layout our owners have a Gas BBQ with storage below, a bin, a fridge and 1.2 metres of worktop space for making drinks, marinading, or serving.

With sweeping hilltop views over the Hunter Valley, this decking space is an enviable setting for evening relaxation; its Grillo outdoor kitchen featuring a powerful Bull grill and an outdoor fridge for casual dining and socialising.
11. Chelsea RHS
This outdoor kitchen at the Chelsea Flower Show is perfectly designed to be a social hub. The bar table and stools allow partygoers to gather round and have drinks whilst being in amongst the cooking action.

This marine-grade outdoor kitchen resides on the roof terrace of the penthouse offices at Gaden House, an impressively refurbished mid-century modernist landmark in Sydney’s desirable Double Bay suburb.

Set within a beautifully renovated Victorian home in Wandsworth, this Grillo outdoor kitchen transforms a compact London footprint into a sophisticated open-air living space.

14. GREAT FOR THE GUSTO
Small outdoor kitchens seem to lend themselves uniquely to a Gusto BBQ. An immensely versatile kamado barbeque and practical yet beautiful bar seating; if you’ve got a view, this is all you need.
15. PIZZA WITH PIZZA
We love the classy, quality, minimalist look of this pizza oven/cabinet combo. Open shelving means multi-layer prep space. Bigger, in this case, is most certainly not better.
16. KISS (Keep it Simple, Stupid
Research reveals the principle can also apply to small outdoor kitchens. It’s easier to clean, easier to keep tidy, it conserves space. Keep it simple.
17. THE MAN CAVE
The most unassuming spaces can be turned into a rathe special garden pub hang-out. Repurposing an existing structure with paired back units from Grillo. The overall cost is reduced, and it offers bags of character.
