Designed by Heartwood Garden Design, this Harpenden garden pairs generous open space with richly planted boarders. An open lawn allows for uninterrupted views back towards the house, while layered planting introduces texture and seasonal interest around the garden’s edges.

The outdoor kitchen sits to one side of the patio, placed beneath a contemporary pergola, it’s a sheltered space for cooking, dining at the bar and relaxing on the outdoor lounge furniture. Grillo’s signature black finish contrasts with the lighter porcelain paving while complementing the darker tones of the house beyond.

Throughout the garden, an abundance of planting softens the modern design. Ornamental grasses and flowering perennials neatly line the borders of the paving. A small water feature introduces movement and sound, adding another point of interest amongst the planting.
