How does Bull Compare to Weber?
We are often asked: ‘How does Bull compare to Weber?’
When launching Grillo, we carried out extensive research in a lengthy hunt to find the best barbecue on the market which met our requirements and needs. With a saturated barbecue market, it can be tough to know which is best. If you scour the internet, there’s a plethora of sites which weigh up the differences and the pros and cons of all types of barbecues. In the end, we opted to add the Bull BBQs to our outdoor kitchen product range and now we’re here to tell you why.
Here’s what we’ll be covering in this article as the key reasons why we chose to integrate Bull BBQs into our outdoor kitchens:
- Designed for outdoor kitchens – Bull was the first in the industry to specialise in ‘built-in’ BBQs
- Top quality – Bull BBQs are entirely made from premium-grade stainless steel
- Aesthetics – Seamless integration and flush style give that true ‘built-in’ look
- Lifetime warranty – Bull Grills have a lifetime warranty for total peace of mind
- Cooking power – Bull grills have the most cooking power in the industry

Bull Vs. Weber
So before we kick off, let’s just take a quick look at Weber’s BBQs. Are they any good? Yes, sure – and if you ask most people what BBQ they’ve used in the past, a lot of people will say “Weber”. Weber are one of the most well-known brands globally. Their products have gained a reputation for reliability, durability and quality, and their iconic designs have become extremely well-recognised. Their kettle charcoal barbecue and their Genesis gas barbecue range are prime examples of iconic BBQs that have been around for years. However, despite Weber’s continued success and position at the forefront of the barbecue game, we still decided that Bull Grills were the right brand for us to partner with here at Grillo. Read on to find out why!
Designed for Outdoor Kitchens
Weber’s expertise lies in creating free-standing cart barbecues. But what a lot of people don’t realise is that a free-standing cart barbecue on wheels is quite a different beast to what you need in an outdoor kitchen. And that’s why Bull set out on their mission over 20 years ago, becoming the first BBQ brand to specialise in designing and building built-in grill heads, specifically for outdoor kitchens.
Our decision to partner with Bull isn’t just down to the fact that Weber’s range consists mainly of free-standing cart barbecues. It goes much deeper, down to the intricacy of their designs. For example, the fat tray in most Weber barbecues is emptied by pulling it out of the back of the barbecue. Obviously, there would be access issues if this barbecue was integrated within an outdoor kitchen, especially if the kitchen included our feature walls. Instead, the fat tray in a Bull BBQ is accessed at the front in a neat pull-out tray, making it much easier to access when you need it.
Top Quality Materials
Just like Grillo kitchens, which are made from top-quality materials such as outdoor grade-coated carbon steel and solid iroko hardwood, we needed a barbecue that was going to work well, and stand the same test of time. And after much research, testing and evaluation, we settled on Bull.
One great way to compare the quality of Bull versus Weber is to look at the weight of the barbecues. The weight of a Bull four-burner BBQ head is the same as the Weber complete carts (BBQ head and cart included!) And when it comes to the construction of the barbecue, most of Weber’s range is made from a combination of stainless steel and coated aluminium. This is unlike the Bull barbecues which are made solely from 304 Stainless Steel. Even Bull’s control knobs and bezels are made of polished stainless steel, giving that chunky look, and solid, dependable feel as you crank them up. And down to the small details: the igniter on the Bull Outlaw is a Piezo which means no batteries are needed. Weber on the other hand have starters which utilises AA batteries that regularly need changing.
Aesthetics
For most people, one of the key reasons they buy a Grillo kitchen is that they love the overall appearance and design. The materials we use have not only been selected for their durability (as discussed previously) but also for the way that they look and feel. So having appliances that seamlessly integrate is an absolute must-have for most people! Bull’s barbecues are perfect in that way, because they sit flush with the surfaces, and fully integrate into our kitchen units. This completely ‘built-in’ look is exactly what people desire from an outdoor kitchen.
At the end of the day, anyone can get themselves a BBQ on wheels, and knock up some sort of DIY kitchen around it. Whilst this may function well, it is never going to have quite the same wow-factor as a proper built in BBQ in a beautifully designed outdoor kitchen.
Lifetime Warranty
Bull has created built-in grills that are designed to last a lifetime. All of their barbecues carry a lifetime warranty on the hood, grates and firebox and the Angus also includes a lifetime warranty on the cast stainless steel burners. This emphasises the quality and durability of these barbecues as the company remain confident that they can offer a warranty that lasts an entire lifetime.
As Bull themselves say, ‘This is the last BBQ you will ever buy!’ It says it all. It is undeniable that this makes them a fantastic option to incorporate within our kitchens.
The Most Cooking Power in the Industry
And now for the most important point of all of all. Obviously, the real decider when it comes to a barbecue comparison is how good they actually are in terms of cooking. And we are confident in saying that Bull Grills are fantastic to use.
Bull grills have the most cooking power of any barbecue manufacturer in the industry. In fact, the Bull Outlaw and Angus both deliver over three kilowatts more power than a Weber. In addition, Bull’s cooking system ‘ReliaBull’ uses a unique design on the flame tamers and burners to help even out the heat on the grate surface. The features of the Bull built-in BBQs are the formula for successful cooking, every time, with minimal stress.
It is clear that Bull was and continues to be a fantastic option to incorporate into our outdoor kitchen layouts. We have only scratched the surface of the reasons why we opted for Bull, but it is pretty clear that there is no need to look elsewhere. We’re often asked ‘Can I incorporate a Weber BBQ into my Grillo Kitchen?’ The answer is ‘Why would you want to?’
