A Letter to All Dads on Father’s Day
We have shared so many memories, however one stands out – you behind the grill. More than watching football? More than you falling asleep behind the newspaper? Definitely. The grill is your domain, your natural habitat.
From seasoning a steak, gutting a fish, to the late night marshmallows, the act of barbecuing is the modern-day building a ship in a bottle – it still requires bottles, but is dramatically more sociable.
Smell is the sense most tied to memory, and it is hard for me to inhale the sweet smokiness and wafting flavours from a live bbq without thinking of you and your grill. Twilight hours, friends and family, grilling delights… Thank you, from me to you, our grilling hero.
